Causes confusion after every upgrade when users can't find their usual Tabs.
Forum: Wishlist

Hi all,

Below you’ll find instructions for those who would like a workaround for the default hiding of tabs.

As these settings (default hiding of tabs) are stored in the Windows Registry, it is possible to have your IT department to set the following Windows Registry at any time (for instance, when the EMu client is installed on your users’ computers).

For the following options: View > Attachments > Options > Show Tabs / Show Filled Tabs / Hide Tabs
This setting is stored under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KESoftware\EMu\DisplayOptions\ShowTabs
where the value can be either:
0 - Show Tabs
1 - Show Filled Tabs
2 - Hide Tabs

For the following option: View > Attachments > Options > Show Search Tabs
This setting is stored under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KESoftware\EMu\DisplayOptions\ShowQueryTabs
where the value can be either:
0 – Hide Query Tabs
1 – Show Query Tabs

Hi John,

The EMu Multimedia module is able to handle large multimedia files, although of course this depends on the capacity of the hard disk available on the EMu server to be able to store them.

It is certainly possible to have a script that automatically:
•    Transfers multimedia files to the EMu Multimedia repository,
•    Creates the Multimedia records, and
•    Creates a link to the relevant objects in the Catalogue module.

It would make sense to store all the multimedia files in EMu, including the master files. It is possible to specify that smaller derivatives of images are automatically created in EMu, and that by default users view a smaller version of the image for fast retrieval, with the master image files still accessible in the event that users need them.

KE Software can create the script and set this up for you. However, this will be chargeable work. Please contact your local KE office to arrange this.

Regards,
Helena

Hi Rowena,

I haven't been able to reproduce this issue here where images showing up as a blur in PowerPoint report. I tested this using the Image Presentation report that is available in the Multimedia module.

There is no resolution specified on the Multimedia tab in the Report Properties box for the built-in EMu PowerPoint reports. Therefore the report will use the master image.

If you are still experiencing this issue, could you create a support ticket for this and we will then look into this further?

Helena

Hi Scott,

For EMu to recognise and know the path of the multimedia file, the MulDocumentType field needs to be set to "M" and the multimedia filename needs to be inserted into the MulIdentifier field. What happens then in the background when the Multimedia record is created, the Multimedia field will be calculated automatically to include the split multimedia IRN followed by the identifier (e.g. 0/032/test.jpg) and the MulHasMultimedia field will be automatically set to "Y".

Query Mode Options to Clear Query Form and Return to Previous Results
Category: Using EMu
Forum: Searching

Hi Mark,

I should point out that Shift+Del doesn't remove data from read-only fields. If you don't want users to be able to search for the "retired" records, you can set up the Record Status field to be read-only in Search mode, with a value of "Active". This way the predefined query defaults are fixed and cannot be modified by users, even if they use Shift+Del.

Helena

Hi Perian,

The field name that you after is called "MulMultiMediaRef_tab".

So the registry entry should look like the following:
Group|Volunteer2|Table|ecatalogue|Column Access|MulMultiMediaRef_tab|duQuery;dvQuery;dvDisplay;dvEdit;duEdit
