Lilian,
To my knowledge, you have received some free one-on-one instruction from a KE staff member recently and we have upgraded you so that you have the latest up-to-date on-line help.

Our EMu help is very comprehensive, easy to navigate and includes many "show me" animated sequences. The on-line help provides clear instructions on how to complete many operations and has many flow-charts to help explain complex processes. The help system also supports the What’s This? facility, which allows you to click on a field and receive context sensitive help specific to that field.

As I have mentioned to you before, if you are still struggling with how to use EMu (and EMu Help), then I would urge you to undertake some training, as any sophisticated software solution can prove to be frustrating without some awareness of how to use it.

Donna

Hi Lilian,
As I mentioned to you at the ARC conference last week, this is a very simple thing to do that does not require any customisation or upgrade.

When in Details View, the Thumbnails option can be toggled on/off from the View menu by selecting View>Thumbnails. If selected, the Summary Data field expands to include a thumbnail of any associated multimedia.

Please send these types of questions to the JIRA queue and KE support will respond to you in a timely manner.

cheers,
Donna

Uploading dngs to multimedia with strange results
Forum: Multimedia

Hi Sharon,
This can happen in the EMu client for some DNG files, depending on how the DNG files were produced and which version of ImageMagick you have running. Installing the latest copy of ImageMagick may fix this, however, the best thing for you to do would be to contact Toronto support directly and send them a copy of an image so that they can assist you further.

Cheers,

Hi John,
Have you tried using the Column Colour Registry entry in conjunction with the Mandatory Registry entry to achieve this?

For each mandatory field, you need a Column Colour registry entry.

Example
Group|Default|Table|ecatalogue|Column Colour|TitObjectCategory  Value = #CCFFD2
Group|Default|Table|ecatalgoue|Mandatory|TitObjectCategory  Value = True

This will override the mandatory colour set in the user's Options.

If I've misunderstood, please let me know.

cheers,
Donna

Hi Lilian,
Nancy from Museum Victoria will be able to assist you to troubleshoot your TRIM settings to sort out your browser access to your TRIM documents (thanks Nancy!).  I've seen (and been a part) of this process at MV and it works nicely.

Once you are able to access your TRIM documents via their URL, you should have no problems adding the resource to EMu.  If you do though, we would be very happy to assist you further via the EMu support queue.

cheers,
Donna

Presentations and photos from the 11th Annual Australasian EMu User Conferenceare now available.

You will also find a link to some Tips and Tricks and a link to the EMu Quick Reference Guide handed out at the conference.

We would also appreciate your feedback - please take a moment to reply to our on-line survey:

Hi Lilian,
EMu has the ability to store non-file resources like URL addresses, so if you are able to access TRIM documents via their URL ordinarily, then you can store the URL in EMu's Multimedia Repository.  Having worked with TRIM in my previous position at Museum Victoria, I think you need to be running TRIM desktop for this to be possible.

To see if it is a TRIM access issue, you could try accessing the TRIM URL via your browser - if you can't access the TRIM document this way, then you won't be able to access it via EMu either.

thanks,
Donna

Hi Sharon,
To append existing mmr irns to ecatalogue records, you can use the following format.  You will notice that I have duplicated your irn values in the first column for each mmr attachment irn - because you are using the + (append) option the mmr irns will append and not overwrite (which is what is happening in your above example) - let me know how you go!
irn    MulMultiMediaRef_tab(+).irn
1808109    348321
1808087    348310
1808087    348536
1808089    348536
1808089    348321
1808074    348507
