Tool for cleaning data before an import.
Category: Using EMu

Hi All,

This isn't strictly EMu related but this seemed the most appropriate section to post in.

I came across this really interesting tool that google are developing for manipulating, filtering and analysing dirty or inconsistent data.  There's a video and download link here: http://code.google.com/p/google-refine/

I gave it go and can see it being very useful for data imports.

Cheers,

Warren.

Hi Karen,

I do believe that  a "multiple groups/user" feature is currently on the development radar.   Once you login you will be prompted with a box asking you to select which group you want to continue as.

I think this feature may be coming in 4.0.03 or perhaps .04 - please don't quote me on that :)

Thanks,

Warren.

a way to enable access to hi-res image files without importing them
Forum: Multimedia

Hi Mark, I agree it makes a big speed difference.

To expand on your last post:  If you manually put multimedia files on the server in the correct location/path then do an "Update Resources" from the menu in the multimedia module it will add your file to the resolution's tab for that record.

I personally wouldn't recommend doing this unless you had a good reason, its not obvious which resolution is an automatic derivative and which is an original image.

Cheers,

Warren.

Hey Sharon,

As Mark said the EMu client works with Vista and Windows 7, if you have any problems give us call and we will be able to help you.

Looking for a script that enables logging of number of licenses used
Category: EMu Administration
Forum: EMu Admin

Hi Will,

This is correct, the statistics module can track license in use / hour.  You may just need access to the module to see this, so you have a Statistics button in the command centre? If you don't but have access to the registry add "estatistics" to the "Table Access" registry entry for your group, alternatively send an email to support and we will be happy to enable it for you.

Cheers,

Warren.

Hi William,

You can add large images to EMu then use a registry entry to restrict showing them when you double click on the thumbnail. This is useful when the masters are in large uncompressed formats such as tiff's.

Search the EMu help for "Maximum size registry entry" for more information.

Hi Rebecca,

I have a temporary solution for you which I have used in the past for computers with very limited space.

There's a Microsoft program (see link below) which enables you to link directories just like you can in UNIX.

It enables you to change:

C:\Documents and Settings\Warren\Local Settings\Application Data\KESoftware\cache

so it actually points to D:\cache or a variation.

If you (or anyone else) is interested please let me know and I can help you set it up.

Thanks,

Warren

Hi Linda,

A few months ago I modified one of the default reports from one of our EMu gallery clients in the effort to get it to display tables.

It does work, however its far from final and I’m fairly certain because of the unique field names it will probably only work for this one particular client. However at the very least it should give you an idea of some of the methods and techniques available.

I’ve attached a zip file, which contains the XSL Style sheet (KEGreen.xsl), an XML file with data (data.xml) you should be able to load this into directly into Firefox/IE and view the final page view without EMu. The last file is the logo (emu_green_logo.png) which is displayed at the top right in the page view. I’ve tried numerous attempts to embed this into the style sheet with no success, for now it loads it from an absolute path. The file needs to be placed in the root of the C drive (c:\emu_green_logo.png).

A screen shot of the page view can be viewed here:

The URL in the documentation for the XMLCooktop application seems to expired but it can still be downloaded from:
