Hi Stella

I have had a similar problem in the past. When I have placed assignment formulas in the header of a report the value never seems to be updated or there never seems to be a value in the variable.
I normally get around this by creating a very small ‘details a’ section just for simple assignment formulas.

It might be worth creating a new details section for your report then only placing your formula called ‘New’ in this details section.

I hope this helps.

Hi

This sounds like a problem with the link for the subreport. In point 6 where you change the subreport link did you choose the _key field from the main report data source?. If the data source for the main report is ecatalogue.cvs the field that needs to be in the 'Field to link to' section will be something like - ecatalogue_cvs.ecatalogue_key

Hi

The best way that I know of to do this is using subreports, with subreports you should be able show all of the collectors in one label without printing duplicate labels and without adding any formulas.
To do this you need to:
1) Take the Brief name field off the report design view in crystal.
2) Insert a new subreport. Insert->Subreport...
3) Follow the on screen instructions, give the report a name then use the report wizard to set up the subreport. (You should only need to add the data source that contains the brief name field to the subreport. Looking at your email this will be ColColle.csv)
4) Select a place in the design view of the report for the subreport to go, once in place you can double click on the subreport to edit it.
5) Add the brief name field to the subreport.
6) Go back the the main report design view click with the right mouse button on the new subreport and select 'Change Subreport links...' select the field that links all of the data sources together, if this is the EMU Catalogue data source select ecatalogue_key from ecatalogue_csv.
