What does EMu do with a DNG?

What does EMu do with a DNG?

Hi,

at Field Museum we are moving away from using tiffs as archive versions to dng and so I we are trying to upload these to EMu and then generate jpegs automatically. Has anyone else tried or had any success?

So far we have uploaded them just fine and can save the file back out as a dng with no problems. Emu also seems happy to create jpeg derivatives. However, the multimedia module does not seem to recognise the correct dimensions/resolution of the original dng file.

For example: when you upload a 70MB, 600x9334 dng the resolutions tab shows 70MB, 164x256. Any derivative resolutions seem to then be generated from this information and so are too small.

Anyone else tried this? I'd really like to know because we are generating 100s per day and I'd like to get  them into EMu.

Ideas?

Re: What does EMu do with a DNG?

Hi Sharon,
This can happen in the EMu client for some DNG files, depending on how the DNG files were produced and which version of ImageMagick you have running. Installing the latest copy of ImageMagick may fix this, however, the best thing for you to do would be to contact Toronto support directly and send them a copy of an image so that they can assist you further.
