Hello
Should the initial view of the Chenhall Nomenclature in the Thesaurus module be displayed as the first 10 file names or the top level terms? Also, should they be displayed in that order? I’ve listed the options below.

Category 5: Tools & Equipment for Science & Technology

Chresty-
I'd vote for your first option without the "Category #" at the front and in that order.

Hi Chresty,
I'd also vote for your first option with the first 10 file names, in that order, without "Category #" at the beginning. This order is how Nomenclature 3.0 is organized in the published book and how we are used to working with the categories. Thanks, Debra

Hi All,
The EMu thesaurus hierarchy view (the tree of all the thesaurus terms) will order the records alphabetically. The only way to keep those 10 Categories in a specific order is to add something to the terms to make them sort into their assigned place. A number prefix would work. A constant string prefix, like "Category", followed by a number prefix would also work. However, cutting "Category #" off the term will not work.

Hi Aaron and Chresty,
Given Aaron's info, my vote would then would be to add "Category #:" at the beginning. This is how those categories look in the published book. Thanks, Debra
