Mapping species and genus distribution

Mapping species and genus distribution

Hi All

A while ago Phil posted about what we'd done with the hierarchiical taxonomy and making it browsable on Collections Online (see here http://www.kesoftware.com/emuusers-foru … ine.html).

We were already mapping specimens indiviually, but the logical  extension to this is we've added mapping of the specimens at family, genus and species levels. There's more to do but we thought get it out as the next iteration anyway. I've written a quick explaination over at our blog. http://blog.tepapa.govt.nz/2011/04/29/m … specimens/

Cheers
