With KE's move to running JIRA using https some browsers and email applications may need to have a refreshed root certificate installed for one of the global signing authorities. Many browsers and email applications include these root certificates by default but it appears some do not.

To install:

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Download and save the file jira_kesoftware_com.crt  to your desktop.
    It may be necessary to right-click the crt link and select Save As.
  2. Launch Moziilla Firefox.
  3. Select Options>Options from the orange Firefox drop down button at top left of the browser window.
  4. Select the Advanced icon in the Options dialogue.
  5. Select the Certificates tab.
  6. Select the View Certificates button.
  7. Select the Import... button in the Certificate Manager dialogue.
  8. Browse to the jira_kesoftware_com.crt file on your desktop, select it and click Open.
  9. In the Downloading Certificate dialogue, check Trust this to CA to identify websites.
    The other check boxes can remain unchecked.
  10. Click OK.

    On the Authorities tab in the Certificate Name column under the "AddTrust AB" sub-heading you will see an entry "PositiveSSL CA 2".

  11. Click OK to close the Certificate Manager dialogue.
  12. Click OK to close the Options dialogue.

Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Download and save the file jira_kesoftware_com.crt to your desktop.
    It may be necessary to right-click the crt link and select Save As.
  2. Launch Moziilla Thunderbird.
  3. Select Tools>Options from the menu bar.
  4. Select the Advanced icon in the Options dialogue.
  5. Select the Certificates tab.
  6. Select the View Certificates button.
  7. Select the Import... button in the Certificate Manager dialogue.
  8. Browse to the jira_kesoftware_com.crt file on your desktop, select it and click Open.
  9. In the Downloading Certificate dialogue, check Trust this to CA to identify websites.
  10. Click OK.
