The University of Liverpool Library joins the EMu family

University of Liverpool LibraryAxiell is pleased to welcome the University of Liverpool Library to the EMu community.

The University of Liverpool Library’s Special Collections & Archives holds unique research materials of local, national and international significance, which not only support the teaching and research mission of the University but also the wider community.  

Claudius Ptolemaeus CosmographiaThe collections include Medieval and Renaissance manuscripts, deeds, modern literary papers (such as those of the Liverpool Poets and of John Wyndham); over 70,000 books printed from 1465 onwards encompassing history, travel, politics, law, medicine, science, mathematics, and children’s literature; archives, including the University archive and those relating to social, economic and political history, such as the Cunard archive, the Gypsy Lore Society collections, the papers of the Rathbone family, Josephine Butler and David Owen; and the Science Fiction collection, the largest in Europe covering this subject. 

Special Collections & Archives is open to all interested researchers by prior appointment and finding aids are available online. The collections are also used in exhibitions and outreach activities, most recently as part of a city-wide project celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Cunard shipping company.
