The City of Edinburgh Council Museum & Galleries joins the EMu family

edinburghKE Software is pleased to welcome The City of Edinburgh Council Museums and Galleries to the EMu community.

The Service holds, cares for and develops rich and varied collections relating to the historical and cultural life of Scotland’s Capital. Comprising thirteen varied and fascinating venues, the service also looks after some 200 historic monuments and attractions throughout Edinburgh:

  • City Art Centre
  • Museum of Childhood
  • Museum of Edinburgh
  • The People's Story Museum
  • The Writers' Museum
  • Lauriston Castle
  • Queensferry Museum
  • Museums Collection Centre
  • Travelling Gallery
  • Scott Monument
  • Nelson Monument (plus other monuments)
  • The Old City Observatory
  • Trinity Apse

Selection of a new collection management system was a thorough process and included site visits, supplier demos and an online survey across 55 institutions from the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Kuwait and Qatar. The move to EMu is one of the service’s core strategic priorities for 2014 and is written into the Museums and Galleries forward plan.
