Scarborough Museums Trust joins the EMu family

Scarborough Museums TrustKE Software is pleased to welcome Scarborough Museums Trust to the EMu community.

Scarborough Museums Trust manages two sites with collections which include art, archaeology, natural history and social history. The collections have national and international significance and it is the Trust’s mission to look after and share Scarborough’s heritage, collections and stories with people in the present and for the future:

  • Rotunda Museum
The Rotunda Museum is one of the finest examples of an early purpose built museum. Its elegant tiers of mahogany display cases form perhaps the finest small museum interior in the country. Amongst the Museum’s more than 5,500 fossils and 3,000 minerals are numerous type specimens, and one of the finest collections of Middle Jurassic fossil plants in the country.
  • Scarborough Art Gallery
The Gallery’s collections, housed in an Italianate villa in Scarborough’s beautiful Crescent gardens, reflect the eclectic mix of the community and the cultural heritage of Scarborough. Included are artefacts from the Star Carr excavations, one of the earliest known sites of human habitation.
